The question, “Have you seen any of these perfect people? What do they look like?” from an individual who had heard my reasoning on the age of those in the heavens, leads to answer for the first question here, and caused me to respond emphatically, “NO!”
“So how would you describe them?,” was the following inquest.
My response was tinged with the tenor of hope and intrigue, “Adam and Eve were created, ‘male and female’ our creator made them. And according to Genesis, they ‘were created in their image.'”
An emphatically nodding head, and an opening mouth caused me to pause.
While my customer spoke, “There are males and females in heaven?”
“That’s just my reasoning on the scriptures I shared with you.”
“So how would you describe people in heaven?”
My answer in accord with the descriptions shared by author Ava D. Dohn, in Sisters of the Bloodwind came out in accord with this comment, “I’m familiar with descriptions of some who have envisioned heaven and the people there but you can read those descriptions for yourself.”
“Is there a description of Jesus?”
“So describe Jesus for me?”
“You are probably imagining Jesus as dark haired, lean, but strong, with dark eyes, and being male? Aren’t you?” was my responding inquiry. In a desire to insight more inquiry, as so not to offend, I also asked, “What do you think? Now remember Jesus came to earth, as Mary’s child, but returned to the original home in the heavens, so doesn’t necessarily look like what pictures all show,” was my hopefully thought provoking response.
The comment returned was a softly questioning, “Blond . . .”.
And the hesitating response and my excitement caused me to burst out, That’s right.” But after a small pause continued with, “You’re right, at least that’s how the book I’ve read describes the Messiah.”
In response to my excitement the comment came, “You know in Italy Jesus is shown in some churches as blond?”
“I thought I heard that . . .” and we continued on discussing multiple topics.
Last year, 2013 while taking a semester abroad I visited a couple of churches that displayed Jesus as blond. And at a religious edifice in Naples, seen on a class field trip in January, Mary with baby Jesus were both displayed with golden blond hair. So a blond Jesus isn’t really that abnormal, it’s just uncommon here in the U.S. with our Puritan and Latin American religious background.
According to online and radio descriptions about the ‘Heaven is for Real’ movie Jesus is a blond that also has blue-green eyes, and this is something specifically said by me in a conversation somewhere between 2008 to 2010.
